In her role as Head of Marketing, Makayla leads the Good Education Group’s corporate affairs, strategic partnerships and marketing strategy. With strong technical and management skills across brand management, strategic campaign planning and media relations, she is passionate about growing the Good Education Group’s presence in the sector and seeking ways to share the Group’s skills, expertise and innovative ideas.
Makayla’s career commenced in public relations, before entering the education sector at Hobsons APAC in a commercial analyst role. Since then, she has managed communications and events for the Good Education Group’s product suite and now leads the marketing department.
Makayla enjoys working in education because of the power and change that it can bring. She likes knowing that she is providing valuable insight and support to those making important decisions about their future, all the while experiencing a sector that is continually changing and evolving — there’s certainly never a dull moment in the education space as far as she’s concerned.
She is excited about seeing education change in today’s globalised economy, and how this will affect growth and success in the Australian sector. She is particularly interested in technology advances and the shift to personalised approaches to education, as well as increasing competition in the sector as providers seek to demonstrate value in an evolving digital landscape.
When she’s not at her desk, Makayla’s time is spent keeping active (basketball, tennis and walking her cavoodle), exploring new cafés and restaurants around Melbourne and relaxing on the Mornington Peninsula.
Makayla has a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Monash University and an Advanced Diploma of Business – Public Relations from RMIT University.
