Ivanhoe Grammar School has been dubbed the top school in the Diamond Valley region, according to the Good Education Group.
The private school with campuses in Ivanhoe and Plenty claimed top spot followed by Catholic Ladies College (CLC) and Eltham College, who tied for second. Parade College in Bundoora rounded out the top four.
The ranking was calculated on the schools who recorded the highest number of 40+ study scores. Good Education Group chief executive Chris Lester said it was a “great result” for the school.
“What we’ve seen in the data is that you don’t necessarily have to spend a lot of money to get a quality education,” Mr Lester said.
“Across the state, there’s a great mix of government and non-government schools all achieving a high percentage of 40+ study scores.”
Mr Lester urged parents to do their research before selecting a school. “We believe that parents have to choose the school that is the right fit for their child,” he said.
Principal Gerard Foley said the result is a “significant endorsement” of the dedicated staff, students and parents.
“For our students to obtain such a high percentage of 40+ study scores is a reward for hard work from all concerned.”
