New research has shown that graduates from Western Australia (WA) have the highest average salaries in the country.
The Good Education Group’s [Good Universities Guide] has found that WA university graduates earn around $4,000 more than their fellow countrypeople after graduating.
The national average for graduate starting salaries sits at around $56,000 according to the study, graduates of Curtin University, Murdoch University, University of Notre Dame and Edith Cowan University have averages of $60,000. University of Western Australia’s graduates peak at $60,900.
Chris Lester, CEO of Good Education Group, explained that WA universities topped the starting salaries among ten fields of study.
“While universities around the country are providing students with an exceptional experience, Western Australian institutions cracked the code and combined student experience results with strong graduate outcomes,” Lester explained.
Despite the higher starting salaries, most of WA’s universities barely cracked 60 per cent for full-time employment rates of graduates. So, if you are one of the lucky WA graduates to actually get a job, you’ll be rolling in it.
It’s a tough world out there.
